Using Content to Boost Sales
Navigating through the information super highway, you'll see there are two types of affiliate marketing sites. There are the sites that have little more than links to other sites. These sites have no content, aren't useful and wastes peoples time.
The other type has the same quality links, but also has content. What exactly is content? Content is the information and articles on a page. Do sites that feature content work better than sites that do not? Of course, but why?
If you visited a website, say, about growing tomatoes, which would you rather see? A bunch of links to other sites that you have no idea if the company is a decent one? Or a well-written, informative article about growing tomatoes with a link at the bottom? You still have no idea if the company is reputable, but the content's writer believes so and they seem like they know what they are writing about. So, which website has more sales? The site with content.
This is the main reason you should have some knowledge about what you are selling. It will be much easier to write content that reads like it was written by an expert, if you know the product well. If a surfer sees your site, finds the content fun, well-written and informative and then sees a link to a related product, the odds of making a sale increase dramatically. The key to successful affiliate marketing is not a magical catchphrase or a secret formula. It is well-written content.
For a small fee, there are companies and freelance writers who are willing to do the work for you. At first, it may seem like a ridiculous idea, but if you knew how much better affiliate websites with content do than sites without content, you would change your mind.
